Corrections LLC

Joelle Palaima, founder of Corrections LLC, joined South Shore Bank in 2017 and has been a loyal client since. She believes the Bank has helped her business reach new levels and looks forward to the future of our partnership thanks to a great experience shaped by our offerings and our helpful team members.

How and when did you start Corrections LLC?

In 2017, I was working for the largest esthetics company in the US when I found out I needed a kidney transplant. Although I loved my job, I knew I needed to make a complete change in my life that would offer me more flexibility so I could continue doing what I loved while also keeping my health a top priority. My aunt owns and has been operating Personal Best Salon in Pembroke for 42 years, and so I opened my own business inside her building.

What is the mission of your business?

I have always loved helping others look and feel their best. It started when I was younger with my own insecurities that led to my love for laser hair removal. Our mission is to help individuals look and feel their best by providing customized laser, skin, and hair restoration treatments as well as body contouring.

How did you decide to partner with South Shore Bank?

My aunt has been a client of South Shore Bank, and she told me “Go with the local bank, they will take care of you.” And South Shore Bank has been doing just that from the very start of our banking partnership.

What is the solution the Bank provides for your business?

South Shore Bank has guided me though the entire loan processes of purchasing my equipment. They helped me change my business from a partnership to an LLC and walked me though the conversion of my accounts. Jane Barry has always gone above and beyond even on her time off to make sure all my questions are answered as well as to ensure there are no loose ends when it comes to outside companies like my credit card processing that is filtered through the Bank.

What is an example of a time South Shore Bank delivered above and beyond banking for your business?

Banking Center Officer, Jane Barry, was instrumental in helping with the process of turning my business from a partnership to an LLC. When my credit card company would not connect with my new tax ID, Jane was on top of everything to make sure my business and I were protected and that the tax info would be handled correctly.  It was only natural that I would go right back to Jane when I needed a loan to purchase a new piece of equipment for red light therapy. She walked me through every step of the way. Then, I met John Mannion, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager, when I closed on my first loan. He was so patient and thoroughly explained everything to me. The machine I bought transformed my business so tremendously, I needed a second loan for another red light system within a month.

What are some future aspirations for your business and how can South Shore Bank help you reach them?

My goal is to open a second location within the next 24 months. I know South Shore Bank will help me by continuing to support me and my decisions. I have developed relationships with people at the Bank that give me a sense of confidence. I can talk to Jane about some of these big decisions and I can have ease of mind with her care and expertise on my side.

Would you recommend South Shore bank to other businesses, and why?

I would absolutely recommend South Shore Bank to anyone and everyone. Every detail is personalized, everyone genuinely cares, and it shows. I can’t say enough about Jane Barry. She has watched me grow with my business and gets just as excited as I do when we see the goals get hit. They have played a key role in getting my business to the next level. I am forever grateful.
